Who says that giraffes can’t dance? Mrs Hercock’s class found out that they certainly can, however the main character in thisstory had some trouble getting started. He was rather gangly and uncoordinated to begin with, and suffered some tauntingfrom the other animals. But as the story developed, he found a friend who taught him that he just had to find the right musicto suit his style, and he was away. Some great life lessons in this simple story!Following the story and some great discussion, thestudents created some fun artwork to show theirgiraffe dancing. The colourful backgrounds werepainted during a lesson on making light and darktones by adding white or black to a base colour.
